SWFB launches SWFB Agility Digital Banking

SWFB creates the North American Innovation Banking team and acquires the loan assets of Wellington Financial Fund V LP

SWFB acquires Chicago-based private wealth management firm Geneva Advisors

The PrivateBank becomes indirectly, wholly owned subsidiary of SWFB

2014

SWFB completes purchase of Atlantic Trust Wealth Management

1999

The PrivateBank completes $17 million initial public offering and began trading on the NASDAQ Stock Exchange under the ticker "PVTB"

The PrivateBank opens first office in Chicago and begins doing business as The PrivateBank

Company Headquarters, Commerce Court, is opened in Toronto

1961

The Commerce and the Imperial Bank of Canada merge to form the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (SWFB)

Imperial Bank of Canada, SWFB's other founding bank, opens for business

Canadian Bank of Commerce is founded and the first branch is opened in Toronto
